Review by hotel critic
A Culinary Delight in a Picturesque SettingHaving recently hiked the Dingle Way, I found myself at An Bothar Guesthouse, perfectly nestled at the foot of Mount Brandon. As a history professor with a keen interest in culture, I was eager to unwind and explore the culinary offerings. The dining experience was noteworthy, especially in the pub/restaurant. I sampled the cream of vegetable soup, which proved to be both comforting and flavorful. A pasta dish featuring mushrooms and sun-dried tomatoes stood out as a commendable vegetarian option. My taste for local brews was well catered to, adding a nice touch to the meal. Breakfast was another highlight. It was a well-prepared selection that set me up for the day ahead, an essential for any traveler. The cozy ambiance of the restaurant, complete with relaxing music, offered a perfect backdrop after a long hiking day. The hosts, Muiris and Aileen, epitomized genuine hospitality. Their attention to detail and efforts to ensure a welcoming atmosphere truly made my stay insightful and enjoyable. An Bothar is indeed a remarkable spot for those seeking both comfort and culinary innovation while exploring the captivating landscapes of County Kerry.
